This early model Doll I, is 16-1/2 in. tall. He has a molded muslin head, is hand-painted and jointed at the shoulders and his hips swivel . He has the wide hips and a separately stitched thumb. His head has play rubs on his hair in the front and on the back of his head. He also has a touch of paint on the tip of his nose to cover a rub. The body is in very good condition with very little darkening of his arms . The torso and legs appear in good condition. His facial coloring is good to excellent. The tips of four fingers and one little toe appear a bit worn but only on the surface and there are no holes. The bottom of his feet have a bit of dirt as though he walked barefoot on the floor. His clothing is not original but is appropriate for him. He is wearing replacement leather boys' shoes.
Condition: For a cloth doll over 100 years old, I would consider his condition to be in the very good category.
