This is another dress from my collection of antique doll clothing. I have a love for crewel embroidery and this piece of clothing is finely ornate with this type of hand work. The silk dress is completely hand-stitched and lined in a light moss green color that matches the leaves in the crewel embroidery. The style is simple with a row of pleats at the bottom of the skirt and delicate off-white lace and pastel pink silk ribbon trim at the sleeves. The back opening has added hooks but no thread loops. I believe they must have worn out over the years. Note the 3 piece gold bar pins jointed by gold chains on the front of the dress. The dress has two small holes in the silk on the back at the opening where the loops were located. I found one tiny hole in the silk on one of the skirt pleats. The dress is old and should be handled with care. I do not see anything else to report. This frock is beautiful on a French bebe approximately 15-16 inches tall.
Measurements: Total length 11-1/2 in.; around waist 7-1/2 in.; around bust line measured just under the arms 8 in.; sleeve length 3-1/2 in.; across shoulders 3-1/4; around bottom of sleeve 3 in.; around neck opening 4 in.
