I recently found this charming little cotton antique doll dress in a bag of items that I bought at a doll show and stowed away years ago and forgot about. I bought it to put on a small 9-10 inch china head doll. Unfortunately I do not have one now and decided to sell the dress. It is handmade with tiny, tiny stitches and I was delighted in the detail of such a small dress. I am certain the dress was meant to be full length on the doll. The base color of the dress is a medium blue shade. The front has an insert plaque down the front made from very tiny coordinating print. The same print is used to decorate the tiny stand-up collar, the sleeves and around the bottom of the skirt above the gathered ruffle at the skirt hem. The dress has a separate waistband. There are two hand-stitched tucks on each side of the plaque, one on each sleeve and two on each side of the back opening. The back opening has three hidden tiny black snaps. I found no holes, tears or rips on the dress. There are a few dark shaded-like spots but these will probably come out when the dress is washed. The fabric is not weak and should handle a soaking in Biz. This is a hard size dress to find when you are looking for it.
