This is a 20 inch 100% original Effanbee composition and cloth Mama doll from the 1920's. She is marked " EFFANBEE " in raised letters on the back of her shoulder plate. She has the most perfect composition I have seen lately on an early composition doll. There is absolutely no crazing. The painted features are also a work of art and perfection. The molded and painted hair has one tiny paint fleck over one ear. She has chubby lower legs of composition and composition arms. Her miraculously decorated clothing: The thin organdy top dress and matching bonnet have smocking, lace trim, feather stitching; there are ribbon bows at the shoulders and sleeve edges and a delicious border decoration at the bottom of the skirt. The sleeveless under dress is made of a watermelon color rayon with lace trim at the top and bottom that shows through the top dress. Her bloomers and button-attached camisole are beautiful. She is also wearing melon colored rayon socks and original black oilcloth one-strap shoes that button. The cloth body is in excellent clean condition. There is an inch long split and two very small holes in the top dress skirt on the front but they are not noticeable with the under dress behind it. NOTE: The original melon colored socks had inadvertently been misplaced and I had to lend her a pair. I finally found them after the photos were taken and she is now wearing her original socks.
