If you are searching for something unique in style for your 23-24 in. favorite Steiner or Jumeau, or other charming French bebe, look no further. I fell in love with this outfit and have used it on several of my French dolls on display and I was never disappointed in the way they looked. The pale green challis with ecru laces and trims will enhance the translucent porcelain face of the finest bebe or even the most charming German doll of the mid to late 1800's. The vintage fabrics were appropriately selected for the period and the techniques applied are some of the enhancements found on the 1850's to 1900 couturier doll clothing. The rousched side panels on the bodice and the bouffant sash that starts on each side extends to the back in a loose layer of doubled fabric to create a bustle. The sleeves are meticulously decorated with cotton lace, tiny ribbon bows and netting fabric. Each of the two layers of skirt, one slightly shorter than the other, is doubled and a crinoline half slip is sewn into the skirt at the drop waist, giving three layers of skirting, two of which are doubled fabric. The back of the bodice was given a row of gathers that were stitched closely in the mid section to create interest to the back of the dress above the bustle. The closure is a hidden one beneath the beautiful front plaque by use of hooks and thread loops. All in all, this is one of the most beautiful re-created doll dresses I have seen lately. Last but not least, the matching bonnet leaves not one thing to be desired. The same beautiful fabric is used. It is interfaced with a stiff frame and lined in ecru cotton. The bonnet is decorated in the same laces and pleated netting as the dress. The bonnet forms a picturesque frame for the face. There are two ribbon rosettes on each side and ribbon ties to create a bow under the doll's neck. There are no holes, repairs or stains on either the dress or the bonnet.
