Rare!!! A 17th century Stuart crystal, commemorative of Charles II, who reigned from 1660-1685. This Stuart crystal ring is in remarkable condition, and was created in both Silver and Gold. The head of the ring has been closed-back set with a sparkling, lovely, octagonal, almost "Asscher - cut, type of faceted Stuart crystal, with two cuts to the girdle. The crystal is in a rub- over collet setting in Silver over a rosy Red foil, fine gilded embossed initials with gadrooned rope border cut directly in the crystal which appear as entwined C's, The monogram of Charles II, all visible between the foil and the crystal. The double ribbed Gold shank is solid-joined across the back and fans out where it joins the crystal. It is currently approximately a size 5.5 ....It is in immaculate condition!!
Who knew that Coco Chanel stole Charles II's monogram???!!!!
