A set of two Coalport dishes dating from the early 19th century. One in the form of a shell and the other square. Each has relief molded ground and is decorated with polychrome floral sprays in shades of yellow, green, pink, purple and red. Brown trim on the edges. Good overall condition - the shell has a small rim chip on the back under the rim and the square a tight hairline at one corner - does not detract. Minor staining. Shell dish measures 8 1/2" across, square is 10" from corner to corner.
