A beautiful pair of early 19th c. Chinese export porcelain plates decorated all over with the sacred bird & butterfly pattern in an orange or iron red scheme with gilt highlights. Lovely pierced border. Nice gray ground / orange peel surface to the backs. Each measures 8 1/8" in diameter. Excellent condition. One plate has a small hairline on the back - does not go through to the front.
