Antique early 19th century French Empire Paris porcelain cup and saucer for chocolate or coffee by Dagoty circa 1815. The cup naturalistically molded in the form of a cocoa bean husk and the saucer of the cocoa tree leaves. Enhanced by rich gilding. Each piece marked Dagoty a Paris in red stencil. Cup measures 4 1/4" across over handle x 2 1/4" tall; saucer measures 5" diameter. Good condition - slight expected wear to gilding does not detract.
Provenance: Klaber & Klaber, London.
