This is truly a rare find. Fabulous Victorian 14K yellow and rose gold (acid tested) hand assembled brooch with all of the bells and whistles any equestrian/horse collector will have to have. My pictures will probably tell more than my description as I am not a horse person and not sure that I can do this piece justice.
The horseshoe motif is lined with 17 round prong set cultured pearls. The pearls measure 2.00MM X 1.00MM with a white body color. In the center is a beautiful stemmed flower with a 2.80MM prong set garnet . A riding crop motif twists through the middle, down, and up the other side of the pin around a prong set half pearl. What can I say, but that this is a fabulous piece of equestrian jewelry.
There are a couple of dimples in the ball piece where the C clasp is located but not really noticeable when worn. Weight is 6 dwt. Measures: 2 1/4" X 1". In very good Antique Victorian condition.
