For your consideration is this very lovely oil painting by unknown artist. Unsigned, the painting is executed on a piece of plywood that kept the date of this piece post 1870. It is possible this piece came off a piece of furniture and was framed into this oak frame at dome point of time. See close ups - there is a nail hole on top of the head of the lady and there are some corner worn that is showing from the corner of the frame. The art was not in the best condition when I found it, and I have padded the gaps between the painting and the frame - so it won't move, regilt the original oak frame, put a new piece of backing page and replaced with newer hardware for hanging. I have not touched the painting itself. The slight imperfection along the edges can be easily covered up if the new owner decided to give her a newer frame. She can be hang as is - an art collector knows a custom new frame would cost more than I ask for the art here.
Painted by unknown artist, this is not the most sophisticated painting in the world, but the artist captured this beautiful Moroccan lady's smile (is she smiling?) and her thoughts, then encrypted all in this oil painting. What is in her head? is she trying to tell you something? Her eyes are so captivating - I just have to bring her to my collection.
With the frame, it measures 18.5 x 15.5 inches and the art measure about 14.5 x 11.5 inches.
