I am pleased to offer a magnificent pair large copper, enamel and glass earrings by the American mid century jewelry artist, Ruth Buol (1903-1982)! The copper earrings are enameled on both sides in a brown to burgundy color and are decorated with two large pieces of faceted glass dome beads in a hot pink color. The glass beads may have been backed with foil as you may see that crinkled effect from the pictures. Then there are smaller beads one in turquoise blue and one golden speckled glass accents. The earrings come with with the artist's trademark paper labels "BJ". BJ is for "Buol's Jewels". She would also name her earrings and the name would also written on the back. Unfortunately these paper labels are no more there after decades. Those who are familiar with Ruth's jewelry know the differences of her work compared to the later look alike.
The earrings are in excellent clean, bright condition and the clips are tight and operate smoothly. The earrings measure 1 3/8 inches long and nearly one inch wide. Tear drop shaped. Clip on backs. Bold style and bright colors by Buol's Jewels.
