This lovely demi tasse duo was created in England of the finest bone china by renowned porcelain manufacturer, John Aynsley and Sons.
They have a very neat, modern "air" about them. The cup is straight sided. Measuring 2 1/2" tall x 2 5/8" wide. The saucer being 5 1/2" in diameter. The cup is marked with a no 28, the saucer 27. Both have hand painted numbers 8013 underneath.
The colour combination is very rich, the white of the china being offset by the deep claret red colour of the border, both enhanced by an opulent garland trim in gold, and an abundance of gilding. The overall effect being very "crisp" but pretty.
In very good condition, with no cracks or chips. It is only fair to say that there are tiny flaws here and there, too minor to photograph, but there none the less. A pin head sized area of white showing through the claret or a slight rubbing to the gold on the handle, for example. Nothing major truthfully, simply signs of gentle use. These have been considered when I came to pricing.
Aynsley enjoy a world wide reputation for quality, and these are certainly fine examples. A lovely gift, or addition to the china collection or cupboard.
Priced Individually. There are 4 cups and saucers available.
