Vendome Prototype Wisteria Pagoda Bead Rhinestone Brooch Pin
This beautiful and unusual brooch is made up of rare Swarovski pagoda beads (sometimes nicknamed potato chip beads) in wisteria color that flash hues of turquoise blue and lavender. Sparkling rhinestone accents add a wonderful touch. This a Vendome prototype meaning this style in this color was never produced for retail sale. Purchased from a former employee of Vendome who worked with the company's lead designer in the 1950s and 1960s. Marked Vendome on the silver-tone filigree backing. Measures 1.875 inches across, and it is slightly domes so it's about .5 inches thick. Condition is excellent. This piece appears in Warman’s Costume Jewelry by Pamela Y. Wiggins (Krause, 2014) on p. 115.
