Vintage pair of "Fantasy for the Ear" earrings and matching hair ornaments is crafted of beautiful hand manipulated wire work and sparkling aurora borealis iridescent rhinestone accents. Metal is gold plated. The ear climber earrings are marked on the clip backs; the matching hair ornaments are unmarked and guaranteed to be made by Napier in 1969. The earrings measure 3.25 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. The hair ornaments measure about 6 inches long and 2.5 inches wide. The gold plating is excellent on all pieces. Some of the original rhinestones in the earrings, which can be worn independently of the fantasy hair ornaments, have darkened a bit and have scratching. One of the hair ornaments has been reshaped a bit at some point. An illustration for similar earrings and headpieces is shown in "The Napier Co." by Melinda Laird Lewis on p. 427. These are considered hard to find. They were purchased from the estate of a late newspaper society reporter in the early 1990s in Madison, Wisconsin.
