Brooch with silver plated smaller wings mounted on a larger winged base plated with rose gold. Dates to 1941 when jewelry featuring this motif was part of a "Fashion Takes to Wings" campaign. These were part of a series designs produced by Rice-Weiner under a licensing agreement with McClelland Barclay as shown in "McClelland Barclay: Painter of Beautiful Women" by jewelry historian Patricia Gostick. Marked Barclay in the familiar Art Deco lettering of this brand on the back of the bracelet. Measures 4 3/4" long and 1" wide. There is some minor wear to the gold plating, but this hard to find brooch is in very good to excellent condition overall. We also have the coordinating hinged bangle from the same line available in our Ruby Lane shop.

Flat rate $4-5 shipping on most jewelry orders within the U.S.
