What doll - especially French fashion Ladies - doesn't love a bit of over-the-top bling for her boudoir vignette? A glass mirror from Venice would certainly demonstrate her worldly travels AND good taste. A frothy bit of Venetian glass has been considered High Style for centuries, n'est pas?
This mirror was likely made in the mid-20th century, and so is vintage and not antique. Still, it is most appropriate for a display of antique dolls. It is configured to either be hung on the wall, or utilize its easel back to prop it upon a dressing table. If I were to keep it, I would remove the easel back to hang it more closely against a boudoir wall. But, I will leave its eventual use up to the new owner. The frame is made of mouth blown glass with molded glass floral accents. These, along with a mirror, are attached to a wood base for stability and safety.
The mirror measures 6 1/2 x 5 1/2" (16 x 14 cm) overall. There is a label on the back that it is made by the Bison company with an address in Venice. There are some scratches to the wood on the back, but the mirror and its glass frame are in great condition.
