Your Jeune Fille will look lovely as a blossom in this charming French bonnet! It is made of embroidered silk with a cotton lining and trimmed with a monochromatic medley of lace and corded trim, and topped with a pair of extravagant lace rosettes. The entire bonnet is made in the same shade of "Ashes of Roses" pink - a very popular color in late Victorian France. The bonnet does have silk ribbon ties, but these are frail and not very usable. That said, if they are merely tucked into the bonnet, it will still stay on the head of your doll and look just as sweet.
The bonnet is on the small side, and would be best on a smaller, cabinet-size doll. I have photographed it being worn by Mlle. Lily - my 18" (46 cm) tall French fashion doll - and you can see that it is a bit too big for her. I recommend that it be worn best by a small French bebe. The measurement around the face is 7" (18 cm). It is in good condition, though I will point out a couple of small holes in the outer fabric - one on each side of the bonnet. Thankfully, because the cotton lining is the exact match for the outer fabric, it is difficult to see the holes. Otherwise, the bonnet is good, wearable condition and would be very flattering on most any bebe!
