Sometimes it is the simplest thing that is the best. Take this lovely French frock. The styling is so simple, but the details are perfect and, therefore, just right. It is made of a fine, lightweight cotton lawn, with hand sewn broidery anglaise lace trim. The yoke is set high in the Kate Greenaway style that was so flattering to children in the 1890's. The sleeves are full and gathered into a frill of more of that handmade lace. The back closes with two tiny pearl buttons and hand worked buttonholes. The dress is clean, unstained and ready to wear. It measures as follows: 12" long (30.5 cm) overall, 4 1/2" wide shoulders (11.3 cm) and 5" sleeve length (13 cm). I estimate this dress would fit a doll of 18 - 19" tall (46 - 48 cm).
