Here we have a mahogany and mahogany veneer secretary with a bookcase top. Often called Gov. Winthrop style although he is said never to have had one. These are in the Chippendale style and Federal style but are not from the Federal Chippendale period. The very top is called swan neck or broken arch with finale. The arch is over two doors with fretwork above the desk compartment. The lower drawers are serpentine in shape. All this supported on ball and claw feet.
This is shown as it was purchased. Has now been waxed and touched up. These are desirable pieces and functional.
