This is a fine mahogany fold-over swivel top above an acanthus carved and spiral-turned pedestal, incurvate plinth and acanthus-carved paw feet with foliate volute brackets. This is not a period piece, meaning it is not from 1830-40 but is a revival piece made around 1880-1900. Note the nicely gadrooned front treatment under the top ending with leafy carvings at the ends and the curved corners also being carved.
The wood and all moving parts are in excellent condition. You see it here as it was purchased, any scratches, haze, dust and debris you see will be taken care of when it is polished. The finish is good and is intact.
These can be used in any room or foyer with the top folded or opened at 90 degrees against a wall for display.
A fine piece.
