This set of 10 oak dining chairs are shown before and after stripping the old finish off. This was done because 6 of the chairs were in use, 4 were in the basement. The ones in use would not match the others without finishing. If finished properly and professionally these would be quite expensive with the leather upholstery done. I have them priced very reasonably.
The Chippendale design back and legs are spectacular! These have ball and claw front feet supporting a cabriole leg that is carved at the knee. The oak is quartersawn, often called tiger oak, which is the most stable cut of oak.
Made around 1885. There are no arm chairs so this set can be used as a set of ten or two compatible armchairs can be purchased for a set of twelve total.
The wood is clean and we will eventually get these refinished for you. They came from a home in Danville, VA along with oak table RK310. The chairs are NOT being sold with the table. The pricing is for the chairs refinished and restored, but not with the seats upholstered. The upholstery is up to the buyer so it will be in their tastes and decor. We have kept the inner coil springs that came out of these. The leather was too ugly and deteriorated to save.
If you are looking for high-quality, elegant set of oak chairs, this is the set.
