This is a very hard to find Red / Pink Onion Plate made by the Meissen Company, circa pre-1924. The plate is approximately 9 ¾” in diameter and 1 3/8” tall at the rim. The plate has the red onion transfer on a white plate. It is marked with the iconic “crossed swords” Meissen mark which was used between 1860 – 1927 along with an impressed “17”. The plate appears to be un-used and in very nice condition with no chips, cracks or utensil marks. There appear to be several (approximately four “pin-head” size) very minor irregularities in the glaze on the flat face of the plate ½” inside the inner red band. These irregularities can be felt but were impossible to photograph and will not detract from the beauty of the plate.
