This is a lovely vintage print of a horse and Collie dog. It is titled at the bottom center "Bred in the Purple." This term was used for horses with royal or superior blood lines, as the color purple was associated with royalty. At the lower left is the number 119. At the lower right is F.M.T. Joliet Ill. USA. Although I don't see a signature, it is shown on page 54 of "A Collector's Guide to the American artist Adelaide Hiebel (1886-1965)" by Chuck Kahle, Tim Smith, and Norm Platnick.
It is in a wood frame of green and gold coloring with glass, a cardboard backing, and a wire for hanging.
Size: The frame is 10" tall and 8" wide. The inside measurements, taken from the back, are approximately 9 1/8" tall and 7 1/8 wide.
Condition: Some typical age wear on the frame in the form of scuffs and slight separation at the corners, but no damage noted on the print.
