This is a lovely and hard to find vintage print of an Indian Maiden and her two children. It is by the American artist Adelaide Hiebel (1886-1968). She worked for various calendar companies during her career. The image is titled "Children of the Forest." At the lower left is "Copyright The Gerlach-Barklow Co., Joliet, Ill. U.S.A." The artist's signature in the plate is at the lower right.
It is in an ornate wood and gesso frame. It has glass, a cardboard backing, and a wire for hanging.
Size: The frame measures approximately 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide. The inside measurements, taken from the back, are approximately 9" by 7."
Condition: No damage noted on the calendar print. The frame shows some missing paint, as well as typical stress lines in the gesso.
This is an image not seen as often as some.
Shipping will be combined on multiple purchases. If purchasing more than one item, please hold payment for the revised invoice. Thank you.
