This is an unusual framed embossed candy box lid. It shows a scantily clad woman covering herself with just a fur robe, standing on a tiger rug. It is done in black and white and is embossed. From doing some online research, this dates to probably the early part of the 1900's when candy boxes were beautiful and often decorated with lovely ladies.
It is housed in a silver gray wood frame. It has older glass, a cardboard backing, with a wire for hanging.
Size: The frame measures approximately 16 3/4" tall and 10 3/4" wide. The opening in the back measures approximately 15 1/2" by 9 1/2".
Condition: It has some scuffs here and there on the outer rim of the box lid, along with a little browning above the lady. It has a little wear to the high spots of the embossing. The frame shows typical scratches to the finish.
A piece you don't see very often.
