Chromolithograph of Boy Sharing Food with Newfoundland Dog
The colors are dark and rich in this late 1800's chromolithograph. It shows a young child sharing his food with his Newfoundland dog. Near the bottom is "© Caldwell & Co. Publishers, NY." The publisher was in business in the late 1800's. In addition is "Copyright Secured." I don't see an artist's name.
It is in a carved criss cross frame with leaves attached at each corner. It has old glass, a wood backing, with a wire for hanging.
Size: The frame measures approximately 15" tall and 19" wide. The opening in the back measures approximately 10" by 14".
Condition: The frame shows some scrapes, primarily to the inner gold border. The chromo has a scratch near the left side and several crimps, noticeable when viewed at an angle.
Still a neat old piece and one not seen often.
