This is a vintage postcard showing dressed mice by the publisher, Alfred Mainzer. Although the majority of the dressed animal series featured cats, Mainzer did a smaller series of dressed dogs, dressed hedgehogs, and dressed mice. The colors are lovely and, as always, there is lots of activity. This one shows the mice in a shoe store or repair shop. Two female mice are trying on shoes, while the mischievous young ones create havoc. At the bench are two mice repairing shoes.
At the bottom right, you can see the signature heart logo of the artist Eugen Hartung or Hurtong (1897-1973).
It was not mailed. The back shows the logo and address of Alfred Mainzer, Inc. in Long Island City, New York. The number of this particular postcard is 4900.
Condition: I see no damage.
