The colors are stunning in this large vintage calendar print by the American/Austrian artist Carl Kahler (1855-1906). It is titled at the bottom center "1025 - 'Neath Blue Kentucky Skies." At the lower left is the artist's signature in the plate. Kahler was known for his portraits of pets, especially cats, dogs, and horses. A lovely blonde with her Collie dog has a skirt full of apples for the horse.
It is in an ornate gold wood frame with a ribbon design at the top. It has old glass, a wood backing, with a wire for hanging.
Size: The frame measures approximately 16" tall and 12" wide. The opening in the back measures approximately 13 3/4" by 10 3/4".
Condition: I see no damage to the calendar print. The only thing to note on the frame is a missing curl on the ribbon at the bottom left (see closeup). It's difficult to notice until you look closely. The glass has some typical scratches which show up in some of the photos.
A lovely and colorful piece for any room.
