Lithographed Tin Vienna Art Plate of Queen Louise
This is a lithographed tin metal Vienna Art Plate, featuring Queen Louise of Prussia. In the Hazelcorn Guide to Tin Vienna Art Plates, she is identified as Jill with a manufacturing date of 1906. This is one of the plates manufactured by the H.D. Beach Company of Coshocton, Ohio.
She measures approximately 10 1/8". It is one of the earlier plates manufactured using two pieces of metal. On the back is "Vienna Art Plates Pat. Feb. 21st 1905." The border colors are dark blue and gold. On the lower right is the signature of the artist, A. Bock.
CONDITION: It shows normal signs of wear, with some scratches. The back of the plate has a stain that I did not try to remove or clean.
If you have a chance, please check out my collection of Vienna Art Plates listed in the shop.
