Vienna Art Plate of Irene - Charles Shonk 1907 - Royal Saxony
This is a lithographed tin metal Vienna Art Plate of a lovely gypsy lady. It is shown on page 35 of the Hazelcorn Guide and is referred to as No. 105 Irene. It was manufactured by the Chas. Shonk Co. of Chicago, Illinois. The company referred to their metal plates as Royal Saxony Art Plates. It was manufactured around 1907.
The plate measures approximately 10 1/4". The border colors are dark green, light green, gold, copper, and red. The back is marked in red with "Royal Saxony Art Plate No. 105 - Irene. Produced Exclusively by the Chas. W. Shonk Co. Chicago, USA."
Condition: It has some scratches and wear, consistent with its age, and primarily around the edges. Please enlarge photos.
