Linen Postcard of Chicago Municipal Airport
This is a vintage linen postcard of Chicago Municipal Airport in Chicago, Illinois. The front has "Chicago Architectural Photo Co." at the bottom left. It also has the number 47 as well as 6316.8.
The postcard was not mailed but would take a one cent stamp. It has "Published by Chas. Levy Circulating Co., Chicago, Illinois" along with "Tichnor Quality Views Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. Made only by Tichnor Bros. Inc. Boston, Mass." It has some information about where the airport is located.
Chicago Municipal Airport was opened on May 8, 1926. The name was changed to Chicago Midway Airport in July 1949 after the Battle of Midway in World War II. It is still in operation today.
It has light edge and corner wear but no creases. Please email me if you would like any additional photos.
