A finely carved Lion Head panel from an early carousel ride, either a Hershal-Spilman or Allen Hershal carousel. This carving is in original paint and is in wonderful condition. The lion panel was a decoration on a carousel more than likely on the inside circular wall because it is in such great condition. It is difficult to discern exactly who carved it or where it was from however it is from the late 19th century to early 20th century.
The panel is 10 5/8" tall x 8" wide and 3 3/4" in relief.
