We have for sale a especially wonderful bakers cabinet found in New England. The cabinet is bittersweet painted and has wonderful wear from use. It is a solid piece with 4 drawers on top, this is the first one we have seen with drawers on top, over a lift up hinged lid. Inside there is two compartments and a sliding breadboard. There is also a shelf and two wrought iron brackets that are large enough to hold a rolling pin. Apparently the baker held two different kinds of wheat or dough mix below in the compartments and some type of ingredients in the drawers above.
The cabinet is sturdy and there are wear marks in appropriate spots on two of the drawers where they were frequently opened. There are tin patches on the back to cover mouse holes and one drawer has been attacked from the back by the varmints, must have been something really good in that one. But the condition overall is wonderful for this solid primitive piece.
The cabinet is 47" wide x 23" deep x 50" High.
