We have combined two fantastic antique pieces to make a functional table. The top is a shipping crate from an HC Evans Gambling wheel, the wheels were shipped and stored in these crates, circa 1900. The base is a cast iron machine stand from a MA machine manufacturer circa late 1800's. This is a one of a kind piece.
The table is very sturdy 57" in diameter and 10" thick. The top is removable and there is 8" of storage inside. The table is on heavy iron casters that were part of the machine stand. The table is also adjustable in height, the lowest is 36 1/2", in this position the table can be rotated. The highest position is 51 1/2" and is locked in place with two Allen screws, this was a stand for a machine and it locks very tight. So you can adjust to any height in between the low and the high setting. There is a round shelf located on the base of the stand. All cast iron features.
The paint on the table is original with some wear as would be expected for a crate.
This is an amazing piece that has multiple possibilities for use as an eating table, display table for a store and can be set high enough to use as a pub table at bar height.
