This is an OLD carved wood trade sign for Cigars and Tobacco. The top potion is obviously the cigar, the bottom is a tobacco jar or humidor. The whole piece is wood with very old iron and tin hardware. There are traces of brown paint on the side of the cigar and a faint trace of white where the ashes would be on the end. The piece came out of Pennsylvania and is from the mid 19th century.
The size is wonderful, 24" long by 15" high over all and 4" wide. The cigar is 21" long, 4" in diameter. The tobacco jar is 10" high and 4 1/2" diameter. Both pieces are solid wood with age cracks as would be expected. The top connection is iron and runs through the cigar to a connection for the jar to hang.
