This is a wonderfully detailed casting of an umbrella that is an umbrella stand. It is adorned on the top with the Hand Holding Rod symbol. This symbol is somewhat mysterious in it's origin yet can be seen in many pieces throughout our history. Some equate the symbol to that of Thomas Jefferson holding a scroll in many of his portrayals in statuary.
The stand is in wonderful condition and is very sturdy. It also has a very nice Verde green finish which gives it a unique and ancient look. This piece is from the early to mid 1900's. The stand is 30" tall and the base is 15" in diameter, weights in at 32 lbs.
