This is an amazing antique cast iron architectural advertising sign for Medical Practice or Doctor. The use of the caduceus as a symbol of medicine became established in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th century. This piece dates to the late 1800's to early 1900's. It is in wonderful condition with an old surface with traces of old paint. It is cast iron and weighs 38 lbs.
The piece is 12" wide x 17 3/4" tall and 3" deep. It can be wall mounted by using the two holes originally cast in it.
