For your consideration, I offer a little miniature oil lamp. This type of blown out roses pattern with remains of the gaudy type paint is called "goofus glass". The paints were never fired on at the factory but were added after the lamp was molded. Therefore, the paint tends to really wear away from cleaning and handling over the years. The rest of the paint would probably come off easily if desired. I believe the two colors were red and gold. This type of lamp has a collar that just screws on with one turn. This brass collar is stressed and is weak and the little original marked P&A Mfg. Co. Acorn burner does not seat correctly without a lot of work getting it on. The glass of the little lamp is O.K. I have priced it accordingly. This little lamp stands about 4 1/4 inches tall to the top of the burner. The base is 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The design is all large roses. See the 2nd volume of the Smith Miniature Oil lamps book, Figure 242 and 243 for examples with a little chimney with a pattern. This one did not have a chimney when I purchased it. I will pack carefully for safe transit. Check my shop for other items of interest.
