For your consideration, I offer a late 19th century illuminator for an oil lamp, along with a number 2 coronet style burner, This type of add on is for an oil stand lamp with a standard no. 2 size burner, the thread size and collar opening of which is 1 13/16 inch. This type of set up would accept either a 7 inch slant or rounded shade, but the shade has to be of the student lamp style which has a ledge that rests on the top of the rim of the fitter, while the 7" fitter fits inside the illuminator top opening. The illuminator has factory rough ground rims which subsequently have some flaking from the grinding.
The burner is one of those larger coronet style which has threads for both a number two size collar or a larger no 3 size (l 3/4 inch)/ The burner is brass . and it is dirty. . I have not attempted to clean any of the burner as some folks like them to look like they are really old as they are, but some like them to look sparkling new. as they came from the factory. There is no wick. I will be listing a Sandwich Glass type decorated shade in another listing so you can get an idea of the shape of a slant shade that can be used. I will securely package for safe transit. Check my shop for other items of interest..
