I offer a pair of late 19th century, early 20th century brass smoke bells. These are large bells and were once used on a gas chandelier hanging lamp. These are part of a collection we purchased many years ago. The original owner was a gas lamp specialist and these were from the estate. Apparently, the bells got separated at one time from the hanging fixture. These large fluted bells measure five and a half inches in diameter. The original owner had all their fixtures cleaned and lacquered and the bells are so shiny they appear to be yellow brass but I think they are red brass in natural light. The original little brass loop hangers are on the top curved dome. These bells could also be used on a double hanging student oil lamp types such as the Rayo large hanging double oil lamps and those used in railroad stations or cars and other commercial buildings. They are in excellent condition. They will be shipped in a box so they will not be crushed in transit. Price is for the pair.
