For your consideration, I offer another swinger bisque doll from my hanging oil lamp collection. These little bisque figures on a swing were made in different sizes for different applications. Really small children on swings were used in clocks, others were used as household decorations of various types. This size was mostly used as a decoration to go on the bottom of a hanging Victorian oil lamp. These old ones were made in the later part of the 19th century and most were made in Germany. Most are unmarked. This little child, I think is a boy from the shorter hair and cap. He sits in a hammock with an open book in his lap, just enjoying two things at the same time. He is five and a half inches from the top of his head to his toes and the hammock is about four inches wide at the top. The whole piece is in good condition with no chips or cracks. Most of these that I have had over the years came with a small cord or ribbon which was old and friend. A chain was added to this fellow in later years for security. Check my shop for other items of interest and send an email if you have any questions. Note. I have also added money orders and checks back to my payment methods as the banks have reopened in my area and I no longer have to wait in a long line at the drive in window.
