For your consideration, I offer this charming heavy board illustrated book. It is titled: "Golden Milestones". Illustrated by the well known New England artist of the time, L. K. Harlow. (Louis Kinney Harlow, 1850-1913). The pages are not numbered. They are all very heavy poster board type. There are approximately 22 pages in the book with ten full page illustrated verses by various authors. Each opposite page is blank. This book is religious in nature, mentioning the birth of Christ and Christmas as the reader journeys through various milestones. The first verse is by Longfellow and reads: "Each man's chimney is the central point, from which he measures every distance through the gateways of the world around him". The book was published in Boston by Louis Prang & Co. 1888. I believe it is a first edition as I could only find later ones. Harlow illustrated many different things for Prang over the Victorian period and in this one, the soft colors and charming illustrations and verses are all outlined in a golden color paint. It measures eight inches by six and one-quarter inches. The binding is all tight and it is in good condition with just the usual smudges on the cover from use over the ages. I offer more than one method of transit, so choose the one that fits your needs the best.Be sure to check my shop for other items of interest. Send an email with any questions.
