Here we have a super rare find. In all of my years of collecting, I have never seen another one.
This is a 1930s era cardboard with paper and silk case, with fold out, Murphy style bed for your doll!
It is such a cute display piece, I have always adored it. The case itself is cardboard with nursery style anthro animals papered over all. All the little animals are adorable!
The case stands on end and opens up with double doors. A cardboard bed folds down with ease. It is made to look like wood and has a pink silk coverlet and a pink silk over cardboard roll style pillow. Above bed is a 3-D window with scene and printed paper curtains. There is a shelf above window. The bed measures about 14" by 9" so it will accommodate a small to medium size doll or two. The doll shown in photo is about 9" tall(she is not included).
The case closed up measures about 15" by 9.5" by 5".
Inside case is in excellent or better condition. The silk bedding has some light foxing.
Outside case has some minor wear to paper. Half of case closure is missing and one door could use tape reinforcement at fold. Cloth tape is what was used by manufacturer.
Case has no odors.
It is truly a rare and unusual find. I have found no manufacturer logo or marking any where on item, but it is definitely factory made.
Please email if you have any questions and as always thank you for looking!
