This sterling silver serving spoon was manufactured by Lawrence B. Smith Company; the large bowl has a beautiful pear shape with scalloped edge. The handle has a finely beaded design with a shallow embossing at the top, a technique developed in the 1870’s. The spoon handle is engraved with the letter “L” in Old English script.
The marks on the reverse of the handle read as follows: “PAT. ‘07’ with the Smith Company logo.
The serving spoon is in very good condition. It measures 9”; it is 2 ½” across the bowl.
No cracks, chips or hairlines. Circa 1870’s.
