This beautiful sterling silver flatware service is certainly a pleasure to look at. It is a service for twelve (12), with six (6) pieces per place setting, that begs to be used as a pleasing compliment to a wonderful dinner. This service would surely receive raves from your special guests.
The service set was manufactured by the International Silver company, once the largest manufacturer of beautiful silver in the world. This lovely set was designed by Alfred G. Kintz in 1948 and is called "Wild Rose".
The service includes: 1) 12 dinner forks, 2) 12 salad forks, 3) 12 soup spoons, 4) 24 teaspoons, 5) 12 dinner knives, and 6) 12 butter knives. The service also includes: 1) 1 master butter knife, 2) 2 large serving spoons (having solid bowls), and 3) and 1 serving spoon (with a pierced bowl, ie a tooth edge) for serving vegetables. Also included are two youth pieces, these being a dinner knife and a dinner fork.
The total weight of this sterling silver set, a total of ninety (90) pieces, is 96.2 troy ounces (figuring two (2) knives equal one (1) troy ounce).
The dinner knives are 9" long. The dinner forks are 7 ¼" long The salad forks are 6" long. The teaspoons are 6" long. The butter knives are 5 ¾" long. The master butter knife is 7" long. All three (3) serving spoons are 8 ¼" long. The youth fork is 6" long, while the youth knife is 7" long.
This sterling silver set is in beautiful condition with no dents, cracks and only a few minor scratches to the bowls of the large serving spoons. It is evident that may of the pieces within this flatware service were never used.
