This sterling silver serving fork is classified as a fish serving fork or a cold meat fork. The manufacturer is Gorham and the pattern name is "Buttercup". This pattern was first introduced in 1899.
Personally I love the buttercup flowers that garnish this fork. The flowers are clustered all down the front of the handle and cascade to the center where there is another cluster of buttercups. Also just above the fork bowl there is another grouping of flowers and cascading relief onto the bowl.
On the back of this fork the marks are: "Gorham logo (lion – anchor – G) – Sterling – Patent 1900". The fork is 8" long X 1 ½" wide (outside to outside of the tines). The condition is very good. There are no dents, cracks – minor surface scuffing.
