Oh, goodness, this is such a prize!!! 19th century silver on copper samovar with lion's head handles. The piece measures approximately 18.5" tall. The interior is very clean and the spigot mechanism is quite handsome. There is some copper "blooming" on the high points. I personally love the copper blooming b/c of the richness that it give the piece. The feet attached to the base have four lines around the body of the foot. The base is tiered with five steps and then a tiered piece which goes into the urn. This has the same lines that are in the ball feet. The edge above the lion's head is lined as is the edge where the top fits. The spigot works perfectly. This is such a stunning piece. I purchased it from an estate in the Buckhead area of Atlanta which had absolutely fabulous items.
Collectible and antique silver, linens and porcelain.
In preparation for a buying trip to England, am adding new sale items each day! Take a look!!!
