This is a souvenir pin/brooch from the cruise ship S.S. Mariposa which was part of the Matson Line cruise ships which toured the South Pacific until the 1980's. It is gold-tone with a bow at the top and an oval medallion with a picture of the ship and S.S. Mariposa. The back of the medallion is blank. The clasp mechanism is in perfect working order.

The brooch measures 1 1/4" in length and 1" in width.

For anyone who ever sailed the South Pacific on the S.S. Mariposa or her sister ship the S.S. Monterey, I'm sure the memories are fabulous. It was truly a first class experience and one that I personally will never forget. This brooch is just a reminder of days gone by.
