This Rand McNally globe is from at least the mid l920's to 1930 (Pre 1931 Japanese empire includes Chosen (Korea). It has paper gores over plaster with metal time dials at the North and South Poles. It is a charming smaller desk globe but there is an area of repaired damage in the North Atlantic approximately 1" x 1 1/2", and a 1/4" chip at the base near the South Pole time dial. Both are restorable. There is some browning from the original shellac, but overall it it in nice, perfectly displayable condition.
The base appears to be bronze and is quite heavy considering the size of the globe. It is quite a wonderful little desk globe.
